The committee will support and encourage development within the South Kootenay’s metallurgical business sector including mining, metallurgical, environmental and related service industries.
Our primary goal is to ensure the long-term sustainability of the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital as a modern and efficient institution for all residents in the Kootenay Boundary Region. We believe that the social and economic services it provides are essential to a viable Kootenay Boundary Region.
The purpose of the Committee is to facilitate and advocate for strategies that address housing needs, that attract and retain individuals and families, and that contribute to the viability of the LCCDTS region.
Create momentum for sustainability in the Lower Columbia by increasing capacity for sustainable technologies and approaches.
To work collaboratively to develop a multi-community, multi-faceted approach to strengthen regional tourism.
The purpose of the Committee is to facilitate and advocate for food growing strategies that promote local agriculture and business, and thus contribute to the viability of the LCCDT region. Initiatives are related to: food and water supply, drainage, insect/weed control, and land use plans that engage communities and people on their own terms, needs and wants. Sustainable agriculture encourages practices that protect the environment, respect animal welfare, promote community involvement and pride while bolstering the local economy.
